Program Notes:

Um ato de fé (A Leap of Faith) is inspired in the poem A música das almas, written by Brazilian poet Vinícius de Moraes. In the poem, it is narrated a moment where a storm passes through the life of different people. At the end of the storm, everyone is well, however, they are all changed by what they lived. The same idea is represented musically in the piece. In the beginning, the solo violin play the main theme of the music. This theme is developed throughout the entire piece, going through calm musical atmospheres and big climaxes. After that, the main theme is played again by the violin, however, it is now changed by everything it "lived" in the development of the piece.
