Program notes:
Tic-Tac is a musical piece inspired by the spirit of rock. The work explores the contrast between moments of suspension, where the pulse dissolves into free and fluid time, and passages with extremely defined and striking pulses. This contrast serves as a central expressive device. In the pulse-free moments, the listener is invited to get lost in a timeless space where sounds float freely, creating a sense of uncertainty and expectation. In contrast, the sections with a very defined pulse reclaim the energy of rock. The strong and consistent beat reinstates a sense of order and structure, bringing the listener back to a familiar and rhythmic ground. The alternation between these two states creates a sonic narrative that reflects the duality of time and human experience – sometimes chaotic and indeterminate, sometimes organized and predictable. "Tic-Tac" is a musical exploration of the passage of time, where each change in pulse represents a new moment, a new feeling, a new awakening.
