Program notes:

Hopscotch is inspired by the children's game that gives the piece its title. As in the game, where the path unfolds through repetitive movements and small variations, the music develops its material from patterns that gradually transform over time. Throughout the work, the musical gestures evoke a playful atmosphere, in which the performers seem to take part in a game, alternating between predictability, surprise, and challenge.
